Meso- and Macroscale Modelling

The first image shows creep models based on dislocation densities, subgrain walls, creep cavities and precipitate particles.

The second and third images show a finite element analysis of a Y-branch from the piping system in a power plant. The result of this test: The new ZU1 steel would allow 65°C higher temperature than the previous 12%Cr steel (X20 CrMoV 12-1).

The Z-Ultra project is funded by FP7 under NMP.2012.2.2-3 - Advanced materials for high-temperature power generation call with Grant agreement no: 309916.
